GRAPHIC DEFENSE was started by award-winning journalists and comic book creators to make real some of the human dramas that are playing out in our time. Through the use of graphic narrative, we aim to empower and educate a community of compassionate readers. Our mission is built on the guiding principle that once we see people in our communities struggling with injustice, we can and will join together to help them.

We team with lawyers, artists, scholars and story tellers to distill complex issues into concise, sharable narratives. We support all of our stories with source materials such as court transcripts, depositions and other legal documents, as well as audio and video recordings. Graphic Defense aims to mobilize as well as educate - we provide our readers with clear action plans for achieving the results we seek.

We are living in a time when cynicism abounds and discerning truth requires effort and determination. Graphic Defenders believe in the power of art to clarify what is, and to change hearts to achieve what might be.
